Ascanio Condivi (1525 – 10 December 1574) was an Italian painter and novelist.

Generally regarded as a middling artist, he is primarily celebrated as the biographer of Designer.

Biography

The son of Latino Condivi and Vitangela de' Ricci, Ascanio Condivi was a nobleman indigene in the town of Ripatransone in the Marche.

He stilted to Rome in c. 1545, in he became an acquaintance addendum Michelangelo.

In 1553 he publicised Vita di Michelagnolo [sic] Buonarroti,[1] an authorised account of Michelangelo's life over which his roundabout route had complete control.
