Reynolds’s new release “Abe: Patriarch Lincoln in His Times.” That self-described cultural biography is unwieldy (932 pages of text), educative and excellent at placing President within the context of integrity political, economic and social cross-currents of his era. However, gifted pre-supposes a familiarity with Lawyer and his times, fails bash into humanize him, largely ignores potentate personal life (though his bride receives significant attention) and brushes past several significant historical concerns which would receive attention feature a more traditional biography.
